2 Day Portrait Painting Workshop _ Saturday and Sunday, January 16 and 17, 9:00-12:00, 1:00-4:00

Come and hone your portrait drawing and painting skills. If you have never worked from a live model before, you are in for a treat! All skill levels are welcome. There will be a live model in both the morning and afternoon sessions. Instruction will be offered in charcoal drawing and oil painting, according to each student's needs and desires. For beginners, there will be a plaster portrait bust to work from for half a day before attempting to draw from the live model. Teaching will focus on proportions and structure of the head, and shading to create volume and light. For those working in oils, a list of suggested colors and brushes will be provided and instruction will be given on mixing skin tones and alla prima painting technique. Cost for the workshop is $220.00
