FINAL DRAFT OF RESIDENTIAL PARKING PLAN ONLINE
After several months of public input and subsequent revisions, the final draft Residential Parking Management Plan is now available online. After the last round of public input we made have made many changes, including but not limited to:
- Creating a tiered system for the distribution of residential parking permits that lowers the number of permits available for multi-unit properties
- Clarifying the areas in which parking meters or pay stations may be useful and explained the additional process that is required before any paid parking would be considered in neighborhoods
- Continuing to strengthen language that holds major institutions accountable to manage the demand for parking
The draft plan will be considered for a vote by the Public Works Commission at their upcoming meeting on January 20 (6:30 pm at 645 Pine St). The meeting will include a public forum for public input on the final draft prior to the Commission’s vote. Should the Commission accept the plan, nothing will change right away. All the major recommendations in the plan will require specific language to be developed, additional opportunities for public comment, and future votes by either the DPW Commission or the City Council.

CURBSIDE TREE COLLECTION JANUARY 12 beginning 7:00am

The City of Burlington will provide FREE curbside collection of Christmas trees for Burlington Residents ONLY on Tuesday, January 12th. Just place your completely bare tree (No Tinsel) at the curb by 7:00 a.m. and it will be picked up at no charge.
