Pine Island Community Farm has one last time to drop off your Christmas tree for the goats this year: Saturday, January 9th, from 10am to 12. We'll have cookies and hot chocolate, a chance to pet the young goats, and a look at our appreciative herd enjoying the trees.
We're at 1029 Pine Island Road in Colchester. From the Winooski traffic "circle": go north on Main Street (Rte 7) past the Winooski Fire Station. Turn left at the traffic light onto Union Street. Go down to the flashing red light and take a right on Mallets Bay Avenue. Go a couple of miles until you see a horse farm on the left and a cow farm on the right. 1/2 mile past the cow farm, turn left on Pine Island Road. Go to the end of the road where you'll see the red barn and our Greeter who will give you additional instructions.
If you can't make the appointed time, you are free to drop your tree on the pile at the barn at your convenience. We can only accept (reasonably) fresh trees with NO ornaments, tinsel, etc.
Pine Island Community Farm supports New Americans to raise goats, chickens, and familiar vegetables. The farm allows these families to maintain their cultural traditions while connecting to the land in their adopted country. Thanks for your support!
