A new Peace Pod is starting in Shelburne at the Pierson Library on January 16th. What's a Peace Pod, you ask?
Peace Pods are groups of people who gather to knit and crochet items to give to people around the world and in our own communities. This is one element of the grass-roots organization called Knitting4Peace, which is "dedicated to crafting hope, healing & peace one stitch at a time through non-violent compassionate action. We are committed to the well-being of women and children we may never meet; we plant seeds of hope for a future we will never see. We are non-violent revolutionaries armed with the power of prayer, crochet hooks & knitting needles, engaged in a compassionate fight for hope, healing, justice and peace for all women, children and families. No exceptions." from: http://www.knitting4peace.org/
All are welcome, and you need not know how to knit or crochet! I can teach you what I know, and hopefully others will join who will share their skills. Patterns will be provided. There is no political or religious agenda other than to pump out more love into this world.
The first Peace Pod will be held on Saturday, January 16th, from 10am to 12pm at the Pierson Library. We will continue to meet the third Saturday of each month. Feel free to write to me for more information.
