Discussion on the on the Refugee Crisis with Relief Workers from the Region

The Craftsbury Public Library will host a discussion on the current refugee situation in Europe and the Middle East with two humanitarian relief workers currently working in the midst of the situation. Tigist Girma Gebresilassie works for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in the Balkans as part of the current Mediterranean cross-border refugee operation, and David Westervelt works the Kurdish Region of Iraq for the Danish Refugee Council. They work with populations in different stages of transition and both have backgrounds in multiple countries with various communities facing displacement for reasons. Both will be in the area to celebrate the holidays. During their stay here, they have agreed to host a discussion of their work and the needs among the displaced and host populations.
