In Vermont, Chittenden County's eastern region provides wildlife with large blocks of intact habitat situated between the rugged heights of the Green Mountains and the more developed river valleys below. It's an ecological sweet spot that Sue Morse has been researching for decades from her home in the heart of the region. On October 2, Sue will discuss the strength and diversity of the area's habitats, illustrating her talk with slides of the wide variety of wildlife she's encountered in her countless forays into those habitats.

The event is being organized by the Science to Action project to increase public understanding of the region's ecological diversity and how that can be sustained. Sponsored by the Jericho Conservation Commission, Richmond Market and Beverage, Rebecca and Terry Ryan, and Vermont Comprehensive Assessment Tool (VCAT). The event is free of charge and light refreshments will be served.
