We all champion the concept of sustainability: sustainable agriculture, sustainable living, but does that hold true for one's hard-earned dollars? Come learn about sustainable investing on Thursday, September 26 at 5:30 pm, the public is invited to the Charlotte Congregational Church to hear from the first mutual fund ever organized around socially responsible values started in 1971. Tom Gainey, VP of Pax World will be on hand to discuss how Pax World got started and its history of value-driven investing and returns over the past 40+ years.

This event is the first in a community-wide series entitled, "Things That Matter," that the Charlotte Congregational Church is hosting. Socially responsible investing is a topic of the church as it considers its own endowment fund. The "Things That Matter" series will cover a range of issues from socially responsible investing to parenting teenagers, to end-of-life considerations.

Please join us on Thursday, September 26 for supper and to hear from Pax World about its history of socially responsible investing. We will begin with a soup supper at 5:30 pm, followed by a conversation with Tom Gainey at around 6:15. A suggested donation of $12 for evening is requested.

Please RSVP to the Charlotte Congregational Church at 425-3176 or via email: charlotteucc@gmavt.net. For directions, go towww.charlottecongregationalchurch.org. If transportation is an issue, please call Meg Smith at 425-4141.
