Johnson State College is hosting an informal “Community Meet & Greet” with President Elaine C. Collins from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 9, in the Performance Space of JSC's Stearns Student Center. The event is being held in lieu of a formal inauguration, at Dr. Collins' request.

The public is invited to drop in any time between 5 and 7. Light refreshments will be served, and President Collins will speak briefly at 6 p.m.

Dr. Collins became the 13th president (and 18th leader) of Johnson State College in July, upon the retirement of Barbara E. Murphy. She previously served as dean and chief operating officer of the 4,000-student College of Education at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan. Before that, she was vice president of arts and sciences at West Shore Community College in Michigan and interim vice president of academic affairs at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. A first-generation college student, she holds a Ph.D. in education policy and leadership.

Parking restrictions will not be enforced during the “Meet & Greet,” so guests are free to park in any campus lot. For more information, contact Cecilia North at 802-635-1240 or Cecilia.North@jsc.edu. We hope you to see you there!
