Award-winning storyteller Simon Brooks will be returning to Castleton Free Library this Friday, Aug. 9th, at 6:30 pm. Simon came to our Summer Reading Program last year as well, and we loved him so much that we asked him to return for this final Dig Into Reading 2013 Summer Program. CES students may have heard him at the end of the school year, but now he has a fresh collection of stories for everyone, young and old.
Simon began spinning yarns and telling tales in 1991 when he would perform for school groups and families at Youth Hostels in the United Kingdom before moving to the States. In 2003 Simon became a Children's Librarian and professional storyteller. He has performed for libraries, schools, and private functions and festivals telling to young children and adults. Combining his passion for children's literature and folklore, Simon creates fun programs for all ages. His repertoire comes mainly from European folk and Faerie tales, but Simon also includes stories from other countries and cultures.
