I'd like to encourage everyone to attend the Homeowners Association Meeting tomorrow at 6:30 in the Allen Brook School Cafeteria. I know we all appreciate the added value to our homes of having a nice neighborhood with updated and safe amenities. When it comes to resale value, though, it is also worth discussing what $300 in annual dues means to any prospective buyer of our homes when they hear it about it. Since there is currently a special assessment for water runoff in place (3 x $150, 2nd payment due in July), perhaps we could have a "special assessment" for the pool house rather than a blanket addition of $90 to the annual dues. Or if it is a question of adding $20,000+ to the annual budget, we should perhaps have a larger input (attendance) as to what to do with this extra money. We certainly appreciate the work of our board! When it comes to larger monetary decisions about the value of our homes, I'm just saying "the more the merrier."
