The Greensboro Arts Alliance and Residency (GAAR) proudly presents famed singer/songwriter David Mallett in concert December 12th, 2015 in the Main Sanctuary of the Greensboro United Church of Christ. Returning to Greensboro by popular demand, Mr. Mallett, who is a forty year leader of America's folk scene, has recorded 17 albums, performed on broadcasts such as National Public Radio's A Prairie Home Companion, and provided material for notables such as Pete Seeger, Alison Krauss, Emmy Lou Harris, Kathy Mattea, John Denver, and the Muppets. Mr. Mallett will be performing songs from his new album as well as his original standards he has made famous.
Acclaimed classical violinists Alexander Romanul, Annie Rowell, and Roy McNeil will open the concert. A reception to meet the artists will follow immediately after in Fellowship Hall at GUCC. Mr. Mallett will also be visiting Lakeview Elementary School in Greensboro on Friday, December 11th, as Artist-in-Residence.
