In conjunction with the AROUND THE WORLD FROM A TO Z Book Launch event, being celebrated this Saturday at Stargazer Gifts & Toys (56 Bridge St., Richmond), there will be a book drive raffle benefitting VT's most vulnerable children. Launch participants can donate copies of the featured children's picture book to DCF foster children, as well as buy raffle tickets ($5 each), with the proceeds going toward the purchase of more book copies for these foster children. Children who attend the launch in a costume from another country will get a free raffle ticket. Also, anyone who donates a book copy to the book drive will receive a free raffle ticket. Raffle prizes include an AROUND THE WORLD FROM A TO Z t-shirt, a world music cd, a world map puzzle, flag stickers, and more. The goal of the raffle is to help VT foster kids have an extra-special holiday season in their second-chance homes. The launch kicks off at 11AM with a public reading for children of all ages, followed by a book signing till 2PM. Refreshments will be available.
