The Art of Words is the current exhibition at the Emile A Gruppe Gallery and consists of the original illustrations by Harald Aksdal for three books: Holy Cows and Spoon Holders by Ilamae Lund and Marvelous Jim by Jennie Nolette. The Exhibit also includes Harald's latest works in watercolor and ink. The exhibit will hang through December 27.
On Sunday, December 6 from 1pm to 3:30 pm, Ilamae will read from her Book Holy Cows and discuss the writing process. Becky Aksdal will read from her mother's tale Marvelous Jim. Holy Cows is the memoir of Illame growing up on a small farm in Iowa. This story has a sweet message for the Christmas Season.
Marvelous Jim on the other hand is about a frog who does finally lives up to his name.
The illustrator Aksdal will also be here and children and adults can ask him how he transformed the stories into pictures.
