Harwood Union High School students are enthusiastically preparing an “Empty Bowl Dinner” to raise awareness about world hunger for Thursday, December 10th, 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 at Harwood's cafeteria. The students are part of Harwood’s Rwanda Travel Study Program and see this as an opportunity to discuss world hunger and share Rwandan culture with friends, family, and community members.
For a $15 donation each attendee will receive a sample of Rwandan cuisine in a handmade bowl to take home as a reminder of those going hungry. The evening’s events include a discussion of hunger around the world, music, and a silent auction of crafts from Rwanda, Africa and local businesses.
To reserve tickets, please contact Steve Rand (244-5186 or srand@wwsu.org).
