A Middlebury holiday tradition is once again singing and dancing its way into town at the Middlebury Union High School auditorium during the “Very Merry Middlebury Weekend” December 4-6. Middlebury Community Players’ Foundations presents The Nutcracker's Adventure, a new retelling of the original Nutcracker story in musical form. So charming and appropriate for all ages, whether you’re in pre-school or retirement, this children’s musical theatre production includes Tchaikovsky’s famous music, with clever lyrics and choreography by Nancy Wollum and a new script and stage direction by Sarah Stone. With tickets only $6, don’t let the holiday season pass you by without including this show in your family’s fun festivities this year!
The cast of 27 includes Anna McIntosh as Marie, Tristan Woods as Fritz/The Mouse King, Jason Poppenga as the Prince, Claire Carpenter as Mother/The Queen, Christopher Ross as Father/The King, and Kevin Cummins as Drosselmeyer. For a full cast list and more information, visit middleburycommunityplayers.org.
Tickets are $6 for all seats at Middlebury Union High School Auditorium Friday & Saturday, December 4 & 5 at 7:00pm, and Sunday matinee, December 6, at 2:00pm.
Running time is about 90 minutes including a 15-minute intermission, a perfect introduction to theater for young children! Refreshments will be available for sale, to benefit the MCP Scholarship Fund.
