Leading with Inspiration and Compassion: an Evening with Lama Tenzin

Past event
Dec 13, 2015, 5 to 7 PM

On Sunday, December 13th from 5-7 pm, the Rusty Nail in Stowe will host a fundraiser to benefit the Children’s Educational Development Society, an orphanage founded by Tibetan Monk Lama Tenzin. Lama Tenzin began his mission in 2000 when he traveled with his brothers through the Upper Dolpo region of the Himalayas. Saddened by the numbers of abandoned children-the majority of them girls-they created the orphanage to provide the children with food, shelter, education, and love. The Society was so successful that Lama Tenzin expanded the mission and created The Girls Institute for Technology, where abandoned girls with disabilities flourish in an unconditionally loving environment. Most recently, Lama Tenzin began the Sound of Soul, a music school that provides these children with music therapy, appreciation, and lessons. All three of the communities are located in Dehradun, India.
Lama Tenzin will share the story of his many journeys across the treacherous Himalayan border; a discussion will follow. Light hors d’oeuvres will be served.
