It’s gratifying to see so many dogs and their caretakers using the Waterbury Dog Park on a daily basis. Since it’s opening in the summer, there hardly is a time of day when there aren’t dogs running and playing in the park. And dogs from towns around Waterbury make a point of coming by on a regular basis. Visitors to the park have been respectful of the park rules and been great at using the pooper-scoopers to keep the park clean for all.
The park was created by a group of Waterbury dog owner volunteers. Through private fundraising, monies were obtained to landscape the area, purchase the fencing and it’s installation, and to build the amenities created by a very talented volunteer.
If you and your dog have been using the park, please join us at a Dog Park meeting on Tuesday, November 24, 7 PM, at the Waterbury Recreation building. We’ll discus the need for more fund raising and with winter coming on the maintenance needs to be done to the grounds.
