Choromondo Sings for Child Haven
On Saturday afternoon, November 21st, the sounds of Africa, Eastern Europe, Taiwan, Caucasus Georgia, Norway, Quebec, and other far-and-not-so-far from Vermont cultures will drift out the windows of the East Craftsbury Presbyterian Church
The Choromondo Touring Ensemble will be singing a benefit concert to raise funds for Child Haven International, a non-profit organization that provides housing, food, education, and loving care for 1,300 formerly destitute children in India, Nepal, Tibet and Bangladesh. (www.childhaven.ca) Child Haven is currently in need of $4500 to replace a well in one of the homes, and we hope to make a significant contribution to that.
Choromondo has been bringing women together from Quebec and Vermont to sing an eclectic mix of traditional world music for more than 15 years and is directed by Quebec artist and musician Allyna Harris. Their colorful costumes and enthusiasm for this music make their performances a pleasure for all.
The concert will take place on Saturday, November 21st at 4 pm at the East Craftsbury Presbyterian Church in East Craftsbury, Vermont. A suggested donation of $15 will gladly be accepted at the door. For further information, call 802-533-2379 or visit Choromondo on Facebook.
