The Burlington Choral Society, known for performing rarely heard works by classical masters and music new to Vermonters, has a special concert this week. We are excited about sharing music from the small but musically renowned Baltic republic of Estonia at the Elley-Long Music Center in Colchester. Artistic director Richard Riley will lead the 75-member chorus and the Burlington Chamber Orchestra in an exciting program of Estonian music - three lively pieces are from an Estonian Song Festival where a chorus of 30,000 sings to an audience of 80,000. There is a world premiere of an evocative piece by Estonian-American composer Lembit Beecher. The Estonian Ambassador to the U.S. will be our guest of honor. The program also features Arvo Part's beautiful "Magnificat."
Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors and students available at www.flynntix.org or 863-5966. Please join us for an exceptional evening. .
