Dept. of Public Service Meeting About Ratepayer Comments

Past event
Nov 17, 2015

Concerned about the way utility regulation is affecting your wallet and environment? So is the Vermont legislature, which is requiring the Department of Public service to solicit public opinion about how to better structure a utility public advocate office so that it truly represents the public interest in affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy. With double-digit rate increases for pipeline expansion looming, utility customers in Franklin, Chittenden, and Addison counties will have an opportunity next week to demand a public advocacy structure that produces results. Please come to the only public hearing scheduled for the Champlain Valley from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 17, at the Shelburne Town Office, 5420 Shelburne Road to tell DPS what you want in a public advocate and to learn more about how ratepayers can stand up for their right to effective representation. If you can't attend, please send comments to Wayne.Jortner@vermont.gov by November 30. For ride sharing, contact bobbiecar2@gmail.com.
