The Village at Cedar Hill is pleased to host the next free seminar in their popular Speaker Series:
“Health & the Human Spirit” presented by Jeanne Childs, MA, Board Certified Chaplain, Dartmouth Hitchcock Aging Resource Center, Lebanon, NH

Medical research reveals a strong positive correlation between physical health and spirituality (beliefs that create meaning and connection in life). Learn the facts and evidence-based methods to cultivate spiritual strengths.

TOPICS TO BE COVERED INCLUDE:

- Is there a relationship between physical health and the human spirit?
- Is there a role in medical care in issues of the human spirit?
- *What are some examples of “spirit stress” which can manifest in the body?
- *Examples of evidence-based interventions to release spiritual stress.

Jeanne Childs is a nationally Board Certified Chaplain (BCC) at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. She provides care to individuals referred from the Geriatric Team at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, and others who come to The Aging Resource Center suffering from loss, grief, isolation, loneliness, lack of purpose, diminished control and other issues of aging. She leads support groups and is a frequent speaker at the Aging Resource Center and in the community on such topics as "What's Spirituality Got to Do With It?", "You have the Right to Remain Hopeful", "The Grit and Grace of Family Caregiving", "Coming to Terms with Loss and Change". Jeanne is passionate in serving aging adults and helping them find within the power to meet their challenges and find peace.

Following the presentation there will be time for questions or comments. Admission is free. Refreshments will be served.

Visitors are invited to tour the newly opened expansion of The Village, where we have added 20 Independent and Assisted Living Apartments and a State-of-the-Art 20-bed Memory Care Center. Village and Cedar Hill staff will be available to provide additional information as requested.

The Village at Cedar Hill Speaker Series will continue throughout the Fall, with a presentation on Medication Management on December 15.

Cedar Hill and the Village at Cedar Hill, is a family-owned and operated senior community, providing a supportive and comfortable home to seniors in all stages of life.
