Music at 5: Traditional Irish jigs and reels performed by Richmond residents Brian Kessler on flute and Jonathan Leonard on bouzouki & accordian, Huntington resident Lucy Cummin on concertina, Jericho mandolin player Paul Wheeler, and West Bolton fiddler Denise Dean. Sponsored by Young Rembrandts, providing after-school art classes to elementary-school students in towns throughout the area.

After-Market Outdoor Movie (7pm, rescheduled from last week): “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.” Bring lawn chairs or blankets and warm layers and stay afterward the market ends to enjoy this free screening of the 1971 fun-for-all-ages classic, starring Gene Wilder. Big screen at the bandshell. Free (donations gratefully accepted). Refreshments including samosas, gourmet (vegan!) chocolates, and warm beverages will be available to tide you over from market closing time till the movie is well underway. We thank our vendors SamosaMan and Chocolate Hollow who are cosponsoring this event, and Gary Beckwith, who will be powering it with his Solar Bus. (Taking advantage of the earlier sunset, we’ve moved up the start time to 7pm.)

Produce this week: Sunflowers, sweet corn, sweet potatoes, all colors of sweet peppers and hot peppers, tomatillos, tomatoes, daikon, root crops and winter squash, certified organic fall raspberries, apples, last week for melons, garlic & garlic braids, pickles, basil, dill, cilantro, wild edibles, carrots, beets, spinach, kale, chard, braising greens, salad greens, arugula, onions, shallots, leeks, and more.

Other groceries: pasture-raised fresh chicken (6 whole frozen chickens for $120), beef, pork, & eggs; maple syrup; honey; bread; pastries; vegan handmade chocolate; maple candies; kimchi, wine, vegan cheesecake.

Dining options: SamosaMan (samosas and curries); Maple Wind Farm (grilled burgers, hotdogs, and sausages); Kadric’s (Eastern European cuisine); Kimchi for Chingu (noodles, dumplings, vegetarian sushi); Maple Tree Tea (iced & hot teas); Sweet Simone’s (baked goods).

Crafts: candles, wool & woolens, pottery, soaps & lotions, wooden bowls, head scarves, jewelry, massage, ornamental terrariums and air plants, henna tattooes.

Absent this week: Huntington River Vineyard (busy harvesting!)
