Anbaric Transmission Meeting Tuesday

Past event
Nov 17, 2015, 7 PM

Next Tuesday, November 17 at 7 P.M. the New Haven Selectboard will receive all the answers to the 69 questions we posed to Anbaric Transmission. If you are not yet aware, Anbaric Transmission and National Grid propose to build an extremely large and quite possibly noisy converter station near the New Haven village center for the purpose of carrying wind energy from upstate New York and hydro energy from Canada to Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. There are noise, electical magnetic field, health, property, and environmental concerns with this project, and the Selectboard expects those issues to be clearly addressed by these corporations.

So far, inaccurate statements have been made regarding this project, both by representatives of these corporations and one vocal New Haven supporter who stands to enjoy a large profit from the sale of a portion of his land to these industrial developers. The Selectboard is working diligently to uncover the truths behind this project, and will then make an informed decision. Please be a part of the process.

I encourage every New Haven resident to attend next Tuesday at the Town Office at 7 P.M. to learn more about this project as we go along. It will have an enormous effect on our town - even if you do not live anywhere near the village center.

Sincerely,
Doug Tolles
