Plans for the Library's Literacy Fair are coming together nicely. There will be lots of fun activities that will support the early literacy skills: dramatic play area, finger plays and rhymes, a book making station, an old typewriter to play with, vocabulary games, and more. We will also have special events throughout the afternoon:
1:30 Songs and Rhymes with Linda Wells and Emily Gletsos
2:00 Author Tanya Sousa
2:30 Puppet Show with Tule Fogg
3:00 Guest Reader Merri Greenia
3:30 Children's Songs with Don Houghton
Each child will get to choose a free book to keep. There are extra goodies for any childcare providers who come to the event, whether a registered preschool or an informal babysitter. If you spend time with kids, we want to give you books and supplies!
The fair will run from 1-4PM, and is geared for children and their families/childcare providers aged 0-6, although everyone is welcome. We hope to see you there!
