Public Informational Meeting for Ferrisburgh Residents - VT Green Line
The Green Infrastructure Alliance proposes to build a 60-mile underground and underwater electric transmission cable to deliver 400 megawatts of clean energy to New England--enough to power 240,000 households during peak demand. If approved, the preferred cable route will interconnect with the existing power grid at a new converter station in Beekmantown, NY, travel under Lake Champlain to Ferrisburgh and connect to another converter station in New Haven. All land cables will be underground. Possible routes for the buried transmission line cable will be along public roadways in our town. This is an opportunity to become more informed about this project, to ask questions and express concerns. More details and maps will be presented at the meeting..
