This Friday at Richmond Farmers' Market

Past event
Aug 2, 2013

The forecast for this week’s farmers’ market hours looks good -- not too hot, not too cold, not too wet -- it should be a pleasant time to come on out and visit with your friends and neighbors, support your local farmers and artisans, and hear the beautiful, innovative sounds of Judson Kimble’s guitar, starting at 5pm.

We’ll have blueberries, cucumbers, eggplant, many varieties of tomatoes (including heirloom ones), arugula, green, yellow & purple beans, fennel, basil, beets, new potatoes, mesclun mix, fresh pickles, cabbage, carrots, kale, chard, scallions, shallots, and more. Also: beef, pork, chicken (whole and parts), eggs, honey, maple syrup, maple candies, kimchi, bread and pastries. Maple Wind is offering 6 frozen pasture-raised chickens for $120 -- pre-order to Beth@maplewindfarm.com And Wild Edibles will be back too.

Dining options: Kyong’s (Asian), Kadric’s (Eastern European), and Maple Wind Farm all have delicious offerings. For dessert, try Sweet Simone’s gorgeous baked goods, Good Companion Bakery’s scrumptious pastries, or the maple fudge and candies of Vermont Maple Products . Thirsty? There’ll be fresh squeezed lemonade and a variety of lovingly brewed iced teas.

Need a gift for someone? You’ll find wine, soaps and lotions, wool and woolen crafts, pottery, jewelry, hula hoops, henna tattoos, hand-decorated tights, Vermont-made durable clothespins, candles, and more.

Rural Vermont will be occupying our Community Booth this week to share information about their work advocating for a healthy rural economy.

Absent this week: SamosaMan (3-week vacation), Dawn’s Massage (1-week vacation), Creator’s Way chocolates (sadly, leaving our market for the season).

EBT and debit cards welcome. Note to EBT customers: We can double up to $10 per market of your EBT buying power with coupons. Come see me at the manager’s table.
