Living like Original Vermonters of the Winooski-Ethan Allen Homestead – Sunday – November 15th – 2:00 pm

“Living like Original Vermonters of the Winooski – Applying the Best of the Past for a Sustainable Future” with Mike Ather

In the late 1700's the earliest settlers of Colchester reported finding a great clearing along the banks of the Winooski River where "Indians grew their corn." Last Thursday, Phil Brett and I located what I think is the location of that clearing. Not far away, near the Ethan Allen Homestead Museum, grow more plants once gathered by Native Americans than in any one single place I know.

Come and see photos of these wonderful edible and medicinal plants and learn how we can use them in our own backyards and neighborhoods to prevent loss of species diversity and create a healthier future for all. – Mike A.

Admission is free.
