Every year the Passive House Institute celebrates the Passive House Building Standard w/ invitations to tour actual passive houses around the world: http://www.passivehouse-international.org/index.php?page_id=262 (map here: https://service.passivehouse.com/de/ph_days/map). This year those days fall on the 13th - 15th of Nov.

Passive House is a code that can be applied to the remodeling/weatherization of existing homes (or any bldg. actually) or new building designs of any sort. Even in Northern VT one can build a house that requires no central heating plant & provides perfectly even, comfortable temperatures throughout every room & level of the house. Although there are several of these homes w/in VT, we happen to have one right here in Middlesex: http://phausvt.org/projects/whitchurch-cottage-middlesex - it’s available for tours this Fri. & Sat. Although we’ve not yet set the times, we’re leaning toward very late morning to mid-afternoon (before dark).
