November, 2015. ARC Rutland Area (ARC) is a nonprofit organization that serves citizens with Developmental Disabilities (DD) and their families, they will be acknowledging their Membership and the goals they’ve reached. The general public is invited to participate in the event. Is it important to you that persons with developmental disabilities be regarded as valued citizens with the same entitlements as non-disabled individuals? Is it also important to you that this group of individuals be provided with opportunities for full participation within the community? It is to ARC, and we’ll also celebrate the 25th anniversary of the ADA (American with Disabilities Act), providing law that supports citizens with disabilities.
The meeting is on Sunday, November 15, from 2-4PM at the Godnick Center in Rutland. Every year ARC holds its Annual Membership Meeting to guide the members through the process of planning for the New Year. Goals of past and future are reviewed and discussed as the members take ownership of the organization’s direction and give statements on how the services have impacted their lives. Individual members have applied for the Maggie Pak Member Achievement award by sharing the goals they have been working on throughout the year. There will be three awards given; the categories are Community Award, Personal Award and Member Achievement Award.
Come celebrate with the award winners and support meaningful lives for all. There will be door prizes and free snacks.
