Join the Middlebury Energy Committee on Sat Nov 7 at Aubuchon Hardware from 10 am to 2 pm for an efficiency information display and lively conversation. Aubuchon is celebrating its grand reopening same day with BBQ, chocolate milk, prizes and a visit from rusty Dewees "The Logger" (12:30 to 2:30). Rusty will be happy to tell you about the benefits of weatherization (see videos of him at www.heatsquad.org).
If you swing by early, you can still make a FREE Button UP Workshop with a professional home performance contractor from 11 am to 1 pm at the Weybridge School hosted by the Weybridge and Cornwall Energy Committees. Refreshments and free LED bulb to participants. Get your do-it-yourself project questions answered by a pro. Reserve your spot by calling 388-1644.
Button Up Vermont Day of Action is an annual tradition aimed at inspiring more Vermonters to “Button Up” each fall, just like we “Green Up” every spring! Many Vermonters waste heat — and a ton of money — because our buildings leak air and are not properly insulated. This effort is all about mobilizing more people to take steps to stop wasting energy and start saving money.
This effort is being organized and supported by the Vermont Energy and Climate Action Network, Efficiency Vermont, Capstone Community Action, NeighborWorks H.E.A.T. Squad, Vermontivate, Vermont Energy Education Program and Green Up Vermont to help raise ongoing awareness about energy efficiency opportunities and create a larger network of people working to inspire their friends and neighbors to retrofit their homes. Find ideas for how you can take action in your home or community on November 7 visit www.buttonupvermont.org.
