Homework Help Thursdays
Is your child having trouble understanding reading, English, or concepts in the new math curriculum? If so, we encourage you to access a new program at the library on Thursday evenings. Sue DeCarolis, a recently retired Castleton educator with a lot of energy, will be available for FREE homework help between 5 and 8 p.m. every Thursday.
Sue is very familiar with our curricula, having taught in the schools of Addison-Rutland Supervisory Union, as well as serving as principal at Orwell Village School, and ARSU Literacy and Math Coach for grades K-8. You may call ahead to schedule a time-slot (468-5574), or just stop in if your child gets “stuck” on an assignment or needs some review. While Sue is targeting grades 5-8, she is willing to help students at lower grades as well.
This is an on-going, free service beginning this Thursday, Nov. 5th. Cancellations due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances will be posted on our Facebook page.

Other on-going, free programs for kids:
Story Hour every Friday morning at 10:30 - Stories, songs, movement & projects to promote love of books.
Preschool Playgroup every Wednesday morning at 10:00 - A drop-in, semi-structured playgroup co-sponsored by Rutland County Parent-Child Center, facilitated by educator Lynn Gould.
