The Green Mountain Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) will host an open-house on Saturday, November 14, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at their headquarters at 355 Valley Road in South Burlington, VT.
The Squadron includes cadets ages 12 to 19, along with adult members who serve as cadet leaders and mentors. All members participate together in ground teams on actual Search and Rescue and Disaster Relief missions. Additionally all members can enjoy tours, field trips, encampments, international travel, and flights in CAP single-engine aircraft and gliders.
Youth, parents, and those interested in adventure and volunteerism, or who would like to know more about CAP, are invited to come and meet members, and tour the facilities, aircraft, vehicles, and equipment. Come see demonstrations and presentations on: Leadership; Orientation Flights; Aerospace Education; Emergency Services; Communications, and Ceremonial Drill. Questions and answers sessions for parents and potential members, and refreshments will also be provided.
