The Hyde Park Community Circle is planning the annual HP Lighting Ceremony at the St Teresa's Parish Hall and Frosty the Snowman Event at the Library this Dec 4 Main St in Hyde Park. The holiday street lights for the Village will be switched on that evening.
. Beginning at 6:30 at the Lanpher Memorial Library, all children and their parents are invited to join the fun starting with snowman crafts to take home, and jingle bells, too.
At 7:00 pm Frosty the Snowman will be there reading 'cool' winter themed books picked out by Amy. Sing-Along to songs Frosty the Snowman, Jingle Bells and other fun traditional songs.
Note: When the Lighting Ceremony portion ends, the Polar Express Bus will be ready to board for the roundtrip to the Parish Hall for delicious homemade cookies and hot chocolate. Jingle all the way!
Starting at 7:00 pm at the Parish Hall, a solemn Lighting Ceremony commemorates people or events by lovingly lighting a white light on one of two 5 ft wide wreaths while each name/event is reverently read aloud. These lights can be in Memory or in Honor of someone special, or to Celebrate someone or an event. Both wreaths will be placed in our Hyde Park Community for the season. We'll keep you posted on details about final locations.
After the ceremony, all the children and parents from the Frosty Event at the Library arrive on the Polar Express Bus to join us for cookies and hot chocolate. Once everyone has had cookies, the bell rings to board the Polar Express for the trip back to the Library.
