Lamoille Union is pleased to present "The Addams Family: A New Musical" on November 12, 13, and 14.
The Addams Family, based on Charles Addams’ cartoons and reminiscent of the 1960s TV show, features an original story. It's every father's nightmare: Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, is growing up and has fallen in love with a sweet, smart, young man from a respectable family - someone completely different than the Addams! Worse yet, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Gomez Addams must now do something he's never done before - keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Chaos ensues on the fateful night the Addams host a dinner for Wednesday's "normal" boyfriend and his "normal" parents.
Featuring wonderful songs, silly gruesome humor, and big dance numbers, this musical has all the Addams characters you've come to know and distrust: Gomez, Morticia, Wednesday, and Pugsley Addams; Grandma, Lurch, Uncle Fester, and a host of Ancestors who have risen from their crypt to join in the fun.
While this show might frighten some toddlers, its “funny-creepy” tone will have everyone from school-age kids to grandparents laughing out loud.
Show times are at 7 PM on Thursday 11/12 and Friday the Thirteenth. There are two performances at 2 PM and 7 PM on Saturday 11/14. Performances will be in the school auditorium located on Route 15 in Hyde Park. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students and seniors. They are currently on sale by cash or check at the Middle and High School offices. The lobby box office will open one hour before each performance.
