Former White House Executive Pastry Chef Bill Yosses will be speaking at Sterling College on November 4 at 1:30 p.m. in Simpson Hall, Classroom 3. This talk is part of the 2nd Annual Green Mountain Farm to School Conference held on campus, and his talk is free and open to the public.
Bill is a major advocate for Farm to School initiatives, has authored the book Desserts For Dummies, and has served as White House Executive Pastry Chef for the last seven years. After helping First Lady Michelle Obama lead the “Let’s Move” program, Yosses departed the Obama White House to focus on “food literacy” by teaching young children and adults about eating better.
He recently founded http://www.kitchengardenlaboratory.org in New York City to promote healthful eating. His talk should be of interest to many in the community who are involved in food justice, nutrition, and farm to school programs.
