Two Public Hearings Scheduled in November

Montpelier – Under Act 56, The Public Service Department has been tasked by the Legislature to report on various forms of ratepayer advocate offices and provide recommendations to improve the structure and effectiveness of the Division for Public Advocacy within the Department.

The Department will be holding two public hearings in November to solicit input from the general public. The hearings are scheduled as follows:
· Tuesday, November 17 in Shelburne: Shelburne Town Office, Meeting Room 1, 5420 Shelburne Road

· Wednesday, November 18 in Brattleboro: Brattleboro High School, Multipurpose Room, 131 Fairground Road

The hearings will run from 6:30-9:00 pm.
The Department also welcomes written comments from any Vermont residents. Comments should be received by November 30, 2015. The purpose of the report is to examine the structure of the public advocacy function of the Department, rather than any specific positions that the Department has taken. Comments directly addressing the structure of the public advocate’s office will be most relevant and helpful.

Comments may be provided by mailing them to the address below, or by email to Wayne.Jortner@vermont.gov.
