Reminder - 6:00 p.m. tomorrow (Tuesday, 11/3), CVSWMD will be giving a presentation about Vermont's Universal Recycling, with details about recycling and composting in Vermont. If you've never recycled before, this is a good place to get starter info. We'll also have details for "advanced" recyclers. Workshop description is below:
Recycling 101
Tuesday, 11/3, Chelsea Grange, 6:00 p.m.
Did you know Vermont's Universal Recycling Law (Act 148) makes recycling and composting simpler than it's ever been? In July recyclables were banned from the landfill, and in five years, all food scraps and leaf and yard waste will also be banned. How will this work? Provisions have been put into place to make keeping those items out of the trash simple and convenient for Vermonters. If you want to know how to get started recycling or composting - or if you already love to reduce your waste and want more ideas - Cassandra Hemenway, Outreach Manager from the Central Vermont Solid Waste Management District will explain how it will work for businesses and households, and answer any questions you may have.
