Hello Neighbors,
We have been asked to host a local premier of a new movie produced by the outdoor company Patagonia. The subject of the movie is snowboarding (assuming a Warren Miller type production), and they are hoping to schedule one of their sponsored athletes to come by and speak to the audience in a Q&A atmosphere. The date is Thursday, Dec. 10, from 6-10pm. We have applied for a special event permit through the City to host the event, and felt it would be prudent to give you all a heads up. I do not anticipate any noise issues from the event, nor any rowdy event goers, but we will plan on diverting any overflow traffic away from the Birchcliff neighborhood. Patagonia has indicated they think they could sell 150-175 tickets. We are planning to screen the moving in our rear production space where BFD has approved a capacity up to 299, which I mention because that is the number that will appear on the permit, but does not mean that is how many people will actually be there.
I spoke with City Council member Joan Shannon to let her know we would be applying, as well as other members of the Council. I am hoping we can hold a successful, family-friendly event here as a first step toward showing all of you the type of presence we'd like to be in this part of town. I welcome any questions you all have about the event. Please contact me at:
