Past event
Nov 22, 2015, 4:30 to 6:30 PM

Do you feel that something is wrong with housing in Burlington but aren’t sure exactly what or why? Are you looking for the tools necessary to understand why Burlington’s housing is in trouble?

The Burlington Progressive Party is hosting a housing forum this month to address ways to build and preserve affordable housing in Burlington. Hoping to build on the party’s strong history of building affordable housing for all residents, this public forum will help jumpstart a city-wide movement to make affordable housing the centerpiece of any new development.

Join us Sunday November 22nd from 4:30-6:30 in the McClure Multigenerational Center for a lively and spirited discussion with some of the premier affordable housing advocates and educators in the state!

Discussion topics will include:
Subsidized Housing – What is it?
Champlain Housing Trust – What do they do?
Burlington College Development – What is the controversy?
Burlington Town Center Proposal – What type of housing will be provided?
Student Housing Downtown – How can we address student needs while meeting residents’ needs?
Inclusionary Zoning – What does it do?
Form-Based Tax Code
and more!

If you believe that affordable housing has reached a crisis point in Burlington, and you would like to understand the issues, join us November 22nd. Snacks and refreshments will be provided.

If you are interested in joining or need more information, please RSVP to Barb Prine, btvprogressiveparty@gmail.com.
