The next school board meeting will be held on Monday November 3rd at 6:30 PM at the Underhill ID school in Jericho. A tour of the facilities will begin at 6:00 PM. The supervisory union technology director will present a report focused on plans and goals. We will also hear about enrichment and co-curricular activities, as well as reports from our Superintendent, student representatives, and some committees (finance, strategic planning, policy), and discuss forming a curriculum committee.

The board explored the “Policy Governance” framework for almost three hours at our October 19th meeting, and plans to spend the bulk of our November 16th meeting concluding the second phase of this consideration. We may adopt this framework in whole or simply apply what we learn to a more traditional governance model.

The Mount Mansfield Modified Union School Board and Chittenden East Supervisory Union Governing Board conventionally have joint meetings, generally the first and third Mondays of each month. MMMUSD includes Mount Mansfield Union High, Browns River Middle, Camel’s Hump Middle, Jericho Elementary, Richmond Elementary, Smilie Memorial (Bolton), Underhill Central, and Underhill I.D. schools. CESU includes Special Education, Transportation, and Central Office for both MMMUSD and the Huntington elementary school. The Brewster Pierce Memorial School Board (Huntington) meets separately.
