It's almost November, so mark your calendar for next Saturday, November 7, pull out your shopping bags, fill them with a donation of non-perishable foods and bring them over to Shelburne Vineyard's 7th Annual Food and Wine Festival and Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf Benefit. The Festival begins at 11 am and runs until 5 pm. Admission is free with your donation. This year, once again with help from VT Tent Company, we'll have about 14 vendors in the winery and on the patio, with tables full of samples and locally produced products to taste and buy for your holiday table or to check off from your gift list. We'll have free sampling of our wines and we'll be joined some old favorites and some brand new vendors. Taste samples from Artesano Mead, Bro:t Bakery, Earthback Coffee Roasters, Eden Ice Cider, Fairytale Farm Cheeses, Good Comida, It's Arthur's Fault, Pingala Cafe, Albice Foods' Sweet Olive Spreads, Vermont Fresh Pasta and Vermont Salumi. Todd Trzaskos, Author of "Wines of Vermont: a History of Pioneer Fermentation" will also be here signing and selling copies of his book. Each vendor will donate a gift item to be raffled off during the Festival with all proceeds going to the Food Shelf. And, just in case you get hungry, The Good Food Truck will be on site so you can buy lunch with all proceeds of your meal supporting the Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf. In each of the past six years this event has gathered close to 3000 pounds of food to share--can you think of a better way to start the holiday season than to offer a gift of food to our hungry neighbors and also fill your table with locally produced specialties, all in one day at Shelburne Vineyard? Let's make this 7th Event on November 7th the most bountiful of all. We hope you'll join us.
