South Hero Recreation Park... Come Take A Look and have some free Cider and Donuts

While you are enjoying the "Trunk or Treat" this Saturday, wander out on the Rec Path and visit the boardwalk, pond, outdoor classroom, the loop trail to the east, and the newly installed outdoor exercise equipment on hill next to the large loop trail. The intention for this equipment is for active citizens to jog or walk the loop, stop to use one or more of the stations (pull up, sit up, push up, back strengthener) and possibly go around again and try another of the stationary pieces, etc. The area is also great for a walk and is acessable at 2 spots on the east edge of the large school/town gravel parking area as well as from the northeast corner of the "old paved area nearer the school.
The new equipment was installed by members and friends of the South Hero Recreation Commission and paid for with our town recreation budget.
The boardwalk was installed in two segments under the direction of Stephan Pierson and Allen Wilder as very successful parts of their Boy Scout Eagle badges.
The pond and surroundings have been used by Folsom School students for study of ecology and biology.
The gravel trail was funded by a Vermont State trail grant and maintained by the Recreation Commission.
Come and check out this beautiful space.
