SAT. NOV. 14: 10AM AT GRAND ISLE SCHOOL:
All residents of Grand Isle County are urged to attend this public forum. All across Vermont, communities are talking about Act 46, the new law that is going to change how schools are governed. Here in Grand Isle County, our five School Boards have formed a Study Committee to research and propose a governance structure that will meet the requirements of this law and will serve the students and taxpayers of our communities. We are just getting started, and are eager to hear from you — the residents of Alburgh, Grand Isle, Isle La Motte, North Hero and South Hero.
What’s important to you about your community and your school?
What do you like about our current 5-district structure?
Are there additional educational, social and athletic opportunities you’d like for our students?
What concerns do you have about a unified governance structure?
How do you feel about providing middle school students with school choice outside our county?
Would you support a proposal that improved opportunities for students but didn’t lower our cost per pupil?
Are there other factors we should consider as we research our options?
