Northwest Regional Planning Commission (NRPC) is currently conducting a pilot project, funded through the Vermont Public Service Department, to create a Regional Energy Plan. The project is focused on accomplishing the Vermont’s energy goal of having renewable energy sources provide 90% of the state’s total energy demand by 2050.

One key element of the project is to analyze siting of renewable energy generation facilities in the Franklin and Grand Isle Counties. NRPC is holding two meetings to gather public input on siting. This is an excellent opportunity for the public to contribute to the conversation about the siting of these facilities and their implications, both positive and negative, upon the region and the state.
These meetings will also provide a general overview of the Regional Energy Plan project:

Monday, November 2nd – 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM - North Hero Elementary School – North Hero, VT - 6441 US Route 2

Monday, November 9th – 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM - Enosburgh Public Safety Building – Enosburg Falls, VT - 83 Sampsonville Rd (VT Route 105).

NRPC intends to have the future Regional Energy Plan clearly identify areas in the region appropriate for renewable energy generation facilities development. The project will also focus upon creating specific regional goals and actions to be accomplish the State’s energy goals.
