The Galaxy Bookshop invites you to join us for an evening with Martha (Patty) Oliver-Smith, author of the memoir "Martha's Mandalas," on Tuesday, November 3rd, at 7 p.m. The book is about the author's grandmother, Martha Stringham Bacon, whose struggle to express herself as an artist in the first half of the 20th century led to madness. Personally connected with Dr. Carl Jung whose theories of the human psyche she adhered to, “Patty” Bacon emerged from her ordeal by painting mandalas. Her granddaughter's book includes images of these mandalas, and some of these will be displayed in a slide show presentation.
