Community Hoop House Dedication at Atkins Field

Past event
Nov 7, 2015, 4 to 5 PM

Hardwick's new Community Hoop House (greenhouse) will be dedicated in memory of Vernon Alper on November 7 at 4 p.m. The hoop house is at Atkins Field and will be used by community and home gardeners and to grow food for the Hardwick Area Food Pantry. It can be used in the spring to start seeds earlier and in the fall to extend the growing season. We will have wine and cheese, hot cider, crackers and cookies at the dedication. Eleanor Alper, Vernon's mom, and his two brothers will be on hand to remember him and celebrate the occasion. This hoop house was built by contractor Mike Feiner of Vine Ripe Construction with a team of dedicated volunteers. Thanks to all who helped make it happen! We hope to see you there. For more information, contact the Center for an Agricultural Economy Community Projects Coordinator Bethany M. Dunbar at bethany@hardwickagriculture.org or (802) 472-5362 ext. 204. See you there!
