Event: Oct 28, 2015, 6:00 PM
In September 2015 the boards of Berlin, Calais, Doty (Worcester), East Montpelier, and Rumney (Middlesex) schools voted to form an Act 46 Study Committee and to fund it by applying for a grant through the Vermont Agency of Education for up to $20,000, with the remaining $5,000 coming out of the WCSU fund balance.
The WCSU Full Board (all boards collectively) approved utilizing the Act 46 Implementation Project, using Diane Kirson-Glitman as a facilitator. The next step is a process that includes a charge being established, among other items.
The public is invited to an Act 46 community forum on Wednesday, October 28th in the U-32 Cafeteria beginning at 6pm.
Following the forum, the Full Board will consider a proposed charge for the study committee; at the conclusion of the Full Board meeting, the Act 46 Study Committee will hold its first meeting.
We hope very much to see some Calais residents at this meeting. As always, please contact me at my board address, ceckhaus@u32.org if you have any questions, comments or concerns.
