Foraging presentation with Alice Eckles at the Ilsley Library on Friday October 30th 6-8 pm

Foraging through the year on the edge of South Mountain will be a slide show by Alice Eckles. She will share her knowledge of useful plants from the woods where she lives and will facilitate discussion about foraging.

The Vermont Book Shop will be at the event selling copies of her novel The Literature Preferred by Wild Boar and Alice’s grandmother, Adele G. Dawson’s book, Herbs Partners in Life, will also be for sale.

Alice Eckles is the author The Literature Preferred by Wild Boar, a novel. She worked for many years and sometimes still works as an artist and art teacher in Vermont, and subsequently has devoted herself to the art of writing. She lives with her life’s companion Ross Conrad in a yurt without electricity or running water, where they plan to build a cordwood house. A nature loving dependence on the earth comes through in her novel The Literature Preferred by Wild Boar.
