Interested in welcoming a high school student from China into your home for the spring semester?

Informational Meeting: Thursday, October 29 7:30-8:00pm, Montpelier High School

Spiral International is seeking host families for 2-3 ninth grade students from Xiangjiang High School in Guangzhou, China for the spring semester. Hosting a student is a great way to introduce your children to a new culture! Our students are enrolled in an international program at their high school in China, and are hoping to attend college in the United States in the future. I can think of no better place for them to have their first academic and personal experience than right here in our beautiful, welcoming town!

Host families receive a stipend of $800 per month, and also have 24/7 support from me as the local Student Services Coordinator. I teach Chinese at Stowe High School, and I live in Montpelier; this fall, I began working as the go-to person for Spiral students at Stowe and Montpelier. I am here to help guide you through the process, finding a student who will be successful in your family's lifestyle, working through linguistic or cultural barriers, and doing anything else you need to make the experience a success for all.
