After 3+ years of effort and obstacles on what started out as an 8th grade challenge for Cole Bartlett, we are proud to announce the grand opening of the Williston Disc Golf Course. This started as a small school based challenge and grew into a multi-year project. It was the culmination of lots of physical work and effort and the kind donations of local individuals and businesses that helped make it all possible. The Disc Golf Course was officially accepted and recognized as a completed project with the Town Manager and Williston Select Board. We are grateful to have made it all the way to completion.

Sunday - November 1st - Grand Opening

We will be holding an official Grand Opening Tournament and Final Fundraising Effort for the project. We will be offering up two different rounds of play.

Currently considering the following:
10 - 12 am Family (12-hole) round ( Starter Set bags will be available as needed for new players)
12 - 3:00 pm Experienced Disc Golfers (24-hole) round
Format, Registration Fee, and start times still being determined.

Please come out to support this exciting new course and give it the positive recognition it deserves. We are looking to raise the last $725.00 that was required for the final work and school physical education materials. We plan to sell hotdogs, hamburgers, and water as well. A portion of the registration will go towards the fundraiser and the remaining will go towards prizes and cash pay-outs.

We held a Williston-Richmond Rotary Family Day two weeks ago and families got an opportunity to try the sport first hand by utilizing the Starter Set bags and disc's purchased for the physical education program. There was tremendous support and excitement. The program materials and starter sets will officially be handed over to the School Principal and the Physical Education Teachers on this day. It will become a standard offering for the students as a segment of the PE classes moving forward.
